Mobil il

The recommended oil by Mobil for Detroit Diesels is DELVAC 1240;comparison charts show it to be the exact equivalent to Rotella DD40 (SAE40,low ash, 247° flash point etc..)It is cheap and available (in France ,anyway)in 20 litre drums . Has anybody used this oil or will I have to be the guinea pig ?...

Re: INTERPOL TEMP GAUGE

I would have been delighted if somebody had given me a better solution for fixing a temp gauge to an air cooled Norton;would have saved some cash and two minutes with a pair of pliers to crimple a connector.

OILS and FAIRINGS

Please help: 1/ There must be some modern 2 stroke oils (other than Silkolene comp 2 pre-mix) which are suitable for air cooled rotaries ! Does anybody know ? 2/When riding my IP2, because of the depression caused by the fairing ,all I breathe is the exhaust fumes ! Does anybody suffer from the same...

INTERPOL TEMP GAUGE

As stated in "oils for Interpol 2" the temp gauge on my newly bought IP2 was out of order:the general opinion was ,it seems, that I had a problem with no solution so I looked for an alternative.Rotax make ,among other things, 2 stroke air cooled engines for microlights and ploughing throug...

Re: oils for interpol 2

All these most informative answers have convinced me that there might be a solution to my temperature gauge problem with a bit of lateral thinking and a lot of optimism ! Rotax produce air cooled 2 stroke engines for microlight airplanes where the need to know the temperature is of some importance. ...

Re: oils for interpol 2

Thanks to all for answers:have just ordered some Comp2 premix via the indicated web site to solve immediate problem.Had a look at the engine as indicated by Mr 2471 and found a small hole with a M5 thread (more or less 6mm deep) about 20mm above the spark plug . Is this the place where the thermocou...

oils for interpol 2

New to the supposedly wonderful world of rotary motion and new member I have some questions which ,I'm sure ,have been answered a million times. My newly bought Interpol 2 will very soon need some oil in the tank but living in the south of France none of the recommended oils are available :what moder...
