OILS and FAIRINGS

Please help: 1/ There must be some modern 2 stroke oils (other than Silkolene comp 2 pre-mix) which are suitable for air cooled rotaries ! Does anybody know ? 2/When riding my IP2, because of the depression caused by the fairing ,all I breathe is the exhaust fumes ! Does anybody suffer from the same problem and better still ,is there a simple solution before I attack the fiberglass with an axe ????Many thanks

Hi.1. Comp 2 works really well try to stock pile it from the club etc it is well worth it. I do not know of another 2 stroke that works as well but I am sure there are other oils like Rotella that you may be able to get locally.2. Never had this at all, where do you think the oil fumes are coming from? Hopefully not from the airbox as excessive smoke from here normally means side seal leaks

I've been smoked out whilst riding. Check the exhaust manifold for leaks. Smoke tends to get pulled up and lingers in the depression caused by the screen. A small leak is enough, especially on Rotella. Flies also get caught in the depression I've noticed, quite entertaining watching one hover about for a couple of seconds before getting caught in an 80mph air stream :-)
