Hi Russ, over the last 48 and a 1/2 thousand miles I've fitted Brembo, Honda,Yamaha, and goodness knows who els'es pads on the Classic and they all work just fine,(and I like to think that I am quite a fast rider,)sounds like you are unlucky enough to have a duff set, just throw them away and fit new ones, ride safe,J.B.

Hi Russ, the Brembo's from Rugely,Honda's from a main dealer in Chelmsford, and the rest from various bike shops in my area,I would never buy anything as important as brake pads off e-bay,tooo risky!! I could look up the prices in my service records if you want, so you can compare? but twelve quid sounds a bit on the cheap side. Its a bit on the late side(23 15hrs) to go rummaging around in the garage,(mite have the neighbours phoning the old bill red face)ride safe,J.B.

Hi Russ I used the 12 quid pads off eBay for my Bmw K1100Rs with exactly the same fitment and they were really good and had quite a nice feel to them, they never let me down and the new owner of the bike also said what a nice feel the brakes had.. You pays yer money and takes yer choice wink Mind you my IP2 had the original fitment Brembo pads in and I think they are terrible lol

Sintered pads are pretty hard on your discs and discs don't come cheap. I had some chattering problems on the rear of my Commander (Yamaha brakes) with sintered pads, solved by fitting organic pads. If you don't do high mileages then disc wear is not an issue.

The discs are expensive but so is replacing the bike when its in the back of a car! will have to see what the sintered pads do to the discs but to be honest i'd rather stop then put up with what its like now!

Well as I said the gold coloured ones on eBay stopped my K1100RS from 150mph in test conditions with no issues and the new owner has bought some too..Paul

Well i've changed the pads and the old ones had virtually not been used at all. There is some surface marks on the disc that in 400 miles hadn't been worn away hence i suspected the pads to be useless. Now i have new pads the braking is greatly improved but only one of the 4 pads is touching?!?!?!?!!?!?!i've stripped the caliper down cleaned up the securing pins and greased them so the pad can move freely but still nothing just one pad?!that one bad is better than the 4 before though!back to the commando it is then!Russ

Strip & defurr the calipers as per Grahams post on this site or the N.O.C. site. Then your brakes will work when the pistons are unseized.Derek.

Hi Derek, they weren't furred, the operate perfectly when offthe disc, i think they may just need bedding in, they are much better now but not taking the rust of the disc which normally takes 100 yards? i think they just need to bed in so they have 100% surface contact.we will see in a few weeks when i put some miles on it!Russ
