The recommended oil by Mobil for Detroit Diesels is DELVAC 1240;comparison charts show it to be the exact equivalent to Rotella DD40 (SAE40,low ash, 247° flash point etc..)It is cheap and available (in France ,anyway)in 20 litre drums . Has anybody used this oil or will I have to be the guinea pig ?? Julian

I contacted Rock oil technical department and they have recommended Turbo D40 for Detroit Diesels. it's low ash and the spec is the same it's cheap and any Rock oil agent can get it for you.Andy
