Rubbish Commander clutches.

Post by Dell Boy »

After 20 years of battling with a number of Commander clutches that would not disengage cleanly causing gear changes to be a war frequently one by the clutch/gearbox I think I have found the cure. From ebay I purchased an accident damaged bent Yamaha Diversion clutch lever. This gives about 5 m.m. extra lift/leverage with the strraight undamaged blade. The bent blade travels under the grip giving another usefull bit of lift.Bingo!! I can now change gear with the lightest of snicks & find neutral easily at a standstill.Cost £7.00 & 15 minutes of adaptions to fit it. It is not a straight replacement.Riding the bike is such an increased pleasure now, especially in town.Cheers, Derek.

Great stuff Derek.I'm assuming the donor Diversion was the bike that came after the Yamaha XJ900? The one so well known to Commander riders!Ian
