Fuel consumption IP2
Hi Guys, what is the range of your IP2's?mine costs £27-30 to fill up from reserve and will do 110-130 miles on a tank! My VFR 400 would do the same mileage on £15!cheersRuss

Re: Fuel consumption IP2
Driving normally I usually put in 1 litre for every ten miles covered ie. 150 miles is 15 litres. (45 MPG) I normally start actively looking for fuel at about 140 miles and keenly after 160. I have the LH side of the tank fitted with a tap so have access to what normally rots out that side of the tank. Just to keep that side of the tank fresh I occasionally use that tap but you must remeber to switch it off or you may flood the engine with oil-less fuel. Not good.

I get about the same from my water cooled.Derek F.

That does seem a tad thirtsy .... from memory, I am getting between 170 - 180 before reserve is needed from the IP2 .... the tank always being filled brim-full with ordinary unleaded.I think mine has the low-compression rotors following a rebuild by Graham a few years ago.David

Not quite sure why mine is doing so bad on fuel then?it runs like a dream i'm certain the mixture is correct, i will have to try a full tank driving moderately to see if its any better! My commander only does about 130-40 to a tank as well. Must be the way i ride it!Russ

I think you have answered the question yourself, only town and short journeys on A roads,?not good for the old ecconnomy, any motorways close to hand?or long streches of dual carrigway?, if so, go for a nice long ride, that will give you a more accurate idea,if not the NOCs International Rally is in France next year,(about 250/300 miles south of Calais,)that'l be a nice little run ,ride safe,J.B.
