Suzuki RE5
Suzuki RE5
Hello, me again! The great Negus has almost finished the refurb of my Classic, so I thought I'd celebrate by buying an RE5. It's in good condition, but hasn't run for a while. Looking at the excitable colonists, there seems to be a lot of fuss over oil and filters as well as spark plugs. Any proper, British, riders out there with an opinion as to what I might use? Also, pray tell me about the carb, please. Are they really that difficult to clean and set up?I live near Kempton, kettle's on!CheersATGPaul

2 helpful items. The carb is a Mikuni production of a Solex 18-32 design. You should be able to go to your local Solex shop with your rubber diaphragms - No Jokes, Please!- and get the replacements. The second tip is the oil filter. This one comes can be found in a Toyota shop. I'll see if I can get the number. It went on a Corolla or something. Very common and very cheap.Charles
