Ip2 current drain

Post by spanner boy »

Ok next problem in getting the IP2 back on the road (aside from more smoke than Ive ever seen). I have a current drain with the ignition off, with an optimate connected the battery ways shows weak, disconnect the earth lead and it charges no problem. I am about to start going through the wiring but wondered if there were any known culprits? This is an ex police bike. Thanks for the help.

Do you still have the original police wiring harness? Graham Wilshaw sells a more basic harness which eliminates most of the spare police wiring. If you stick with the original harness you could remove the relays that supply the police equipment and disconnect the switches in the LH fairing. You may look at removing the capacitor connected to the battery.Dave
