B*****d car drivers!!
Hi Guys, Had a bit of a close call on the way to get the Classic M.O.Td on Monday, some b*****d car driver in the n/s lane on a roundabout decided to turn right as I was alongside them, goodness knows how I avoided a collision, but I did,but bounced up the kerb, across the rainsoked grass reservation, missed a lamp post by inches and stoped on the outside lane of the approaching traffic, which fortunatly was empty, and the rest of the traffic had slowed almost to a stop for the roundabout,(needless to say the b*****d car driver did'nt stop,)I then proceded to the MOT garage where it was pointed out that I had a "threepenny bit wheel",on the front and no way would it pass an MOT(I'd had a quick look at the wheel at the road side but had missed the damaged rim)the rear wheel had the tinyest of kinks, but the front was beyond repair,so a slow ride home(about four miles)a phone call to Graham's imporium and a wheel is on its way,oh and the tyres buggered as well, not a good day,the upside is it could have been a lot worse. On a more cheerfull note, I have a birthday in April, and as a little gift to myself I have bought myself another bike!!(I have felt so deprived because I am the only biker I know that only has one bike!!)so now I have two,the new bike is a little Greeves 250cc twin, just the job for poodling about on.Ride safely,J.B.

Sorry to read about your incident John. You were lucky to escape unscathed. If you recollect I had the same manouvre pulled on me 4 years ago & had to throw the Triton up the road to avoid "T" boning the car. Watching the alloy tank scraping along the road was not a pleasant sight. Fortunately I had two car driving witnesses who got the drivers registration & he was traced & his insurance paid for the bike & my injuries. His statement "I didn`t see any motorcycle". Don`t you just love them!!. I think the current goverment biker road safety advert is quite effective on telly. It puts the point accross that we are real people not chunks of metal so watch out for us.Anyway, point of the post is I was just about to put a Villiers workshop manual & separate spare parts book on ebay but you can have them (if you want them) for the price of a beer at club night. It covers all models back to 1955. Derek.

Hi Dell Boy,thanks for the offer of the Villiers manuels but the one i've just aquired came with masses of technical info + all the bills for the re-build.Say hi to the guys at the club on the 12th?for me, I will be chugging along the Oxford canal, all very restful, for those of you who have never taken a canal boat holiday, give it a try,one of the most relaxing holidays I have ever taken, not cheap though, the 68 footer that we are hiring is about a fiver short of a grand, then there is the food and booze in the pub of a night on top,ah wot the hell!! we are only here once, ride safely,J.B.

Re: B*****d car drivers!!
I recieved a front wheel from Graham, and while the wheel was off I took the brake discs to a fellow member of the Essex branch of the N.O.C. and had them drilled,(he did an excelant job)removing the wheel bearings from the damaged wheel was a bit time consuming,(i'ts many a long summer since I had to take out wheel bearings to be re-used)anyway,another wheel, nice new tyre, drilled discs(which look great) and the old girl is ready for her M.O.T. on Thursday, hope to see some of you at S/Hall,regards,J.B.

Hello J.b. Rooting about in the workshop loft, looking for something else, I found an Interpol rear wheel. Any use to you? Don`t know what condition its in or why I have got it. Derek.
