Is that an oblique reference to the high silicon aluminium material of the air-cooled engine plates? Or are you really an old piston person?Anyway, welcome!R.

Hi Richard and thanks for the welcome. I first came across Y alloy in that wonderful book 'Tuning for Speed' and chose it as a username but the connection with air cooled side plates is appropriate as I do have an IP2.Actually you may remember me pestering you with questions at the Popham megameet last summer. Well, I'm still rebuilding the engine but I hope to be riding it again by Popham 2016.
