How's the RE-5 running these days?CW

Hey Charles!Running very well, thank you!I had just one classic run where it ran like a hound all day and I suspected everything from the carb clogging up to a catastrophic rotor failure. Turned out it was a fouled plug! Hasn't happened before or since, but guess what? I now carry a spare Just acquired a Hercules W2000 to keep the other two company, but it needs a rebuild. Rotaries, eh? A disease, really....CheersATGPaul

Glad to hear everything's OK.Yup! You need to carry an extra plug and a multi-wrench or something to change the plug if/when it fouls.Maybe the next time an RE-5 is re-designed, we can have a workable ignition system. I know that NSU had the Best of Intentions, but...Rotaries may be a symptom of a disease but remember that when you roll it on at some wonderful speed and your handlebars don't expand to tree trunk proportions because of the vibrations - You're CURED!CW
