Club Insurance Scheme

Post by kanonkopdrinker »

I recently had to renew my bike insurance ... Carole Nash's best quote was £273!! So I decided to shop around ...Footman James was one alternative; they initially quoted £302 .... BUT if I was a club member, the premium would come down to £217!!! Carol Nash refused to come even close. The FJ policy also includes European breakdown cover.FJ has an arrangement with most of the large national owners' clubs (of classic cars & motorcycles) whereby their members are offered advantageous rates. They will include details of the club and a link to the club site on their own - and in return would like a link to their site; and an advert to appear in the newsletter. Footman James's site is at http://www.footmanjames.co.uk There'll be an ad. in the next mag ...Might be worth considering when renewal is due? Anyone forgotten their membership number, just email me and I'll send you a reminder.DC

Hi Interpol 2471 Seem to have hi-jacked this thread, Yes it was the one NML. At the moment I have a love -hate relationship going with it, some days it goes other days it says no go today. If you bought one you would have to call it Mr. Smokey.Guitars, Cadillacs and Hillbilly music

I heard from the NOC Vice Chairman at Cholmondeley P of P that Peter James will undercut FJ, with all the similar benefits. My FJ renewal went from £107 to £130 this year for no good reason.

Insurance premiums

Post by Richard Negus »

I've two cars and house+contents insured with More Than and now treat Renewal Invitations as the opening gambit for a discussion. The letter arrives, I think "How much ?" cry I get a new on-line quote from morethan.com and say "Is that all? smiley Then I phone More Than and discuss what they're actually going to charge me - which on the last couple of occasions has been LESS than the on-line quote. Very Happy This year's actual premium for my Vectra is 2/3 of the amount requested (£199.16 vs £301.36) in the initial invitation.I did a similar thing with my boat insurance. Gulp at renewal!/ring round for best quote/discuss with current Insurer - and got a similar reduction (£175.00 vs £276.88).It pays to haggle as no company wants to lose customers.
