tyres for standard commander

hi all
tried to find about tyres on this site but it keeps throwing me to supreme commandered tyred bikes
are we limited to standard tyres as in handbook ive seen a lot of talk about radials but are these not on original bikes
ive always had avon cobras on my modern bikes and ive loved them so could i use these if so is it same size as original, looks like tyres are minefield but your trusting your life to them

Keep standard especially on rear as it can rub if you get a standard profile. Avon Road riders are very good or Bridgestone BT45 my choice.
