Oil Pump setting

Post by johnbirchjar »

Hi guys,guess who red face.
Is there any difference in the Oil Pump settings between Air-Cooled Rotories and the Commanders?
I toped up the Commander Oil Tank today and the old girl seems to have done 495 miles on a PINT?!!of Rotella(the Classic regularly returned 300+or- a few)I checked the settings on the pump and they seemed fine(bearing in mind this pump was set up for the Classic's air-cooled engine)
I seem to remember a couple of Commander owners reporting 400+miles from a pint of Rotella,is this about the norm?rgds,J.B.

John,

Approx 450 miles to a pint i.e 0.5 litre is about what I get from my Commander

Line up the marks of the lever and housing at 2000 RPM and you should not be far off

John,

Type Oil Consumption into the search bar, there's a huge amount of info from members going back a number of years on the subject of how many miles they get from a litre of oil
