Charity Run - how to ?

Has anyone got any first-hand experience of organising a sponsored bike ride, circa 3,000 miles, in aid of a charity ?\rWhat, if any, permissions are needed ?\rWhat is a reasonable daily mileage, on A & B roads only, using IP2's ?\rTo keep costs down, where would you stay overnight ?\rDo you inform your insurers ?\rAny advice appreciated !

I am sure that in a recent issue of Epitrochoid one of the members had organised a run for an Air Ambulance? Dig it out and drop him an email to see what he had to do.\rAlso Hugh Jaeger is involved with 'Bikers with Disabilities' and might be able to throw some light on what's required. Contact him.
