Hello have registered to find out if C182 CUD has survived..AS a thames valley police motorcyclist I was fortunate to be issued one of 3 Interpol air cooled rotaries bought by the force in 1986..unfortunately the engine expired in1988 when I had to escort a very slow abnormal load at such a slow speed over several miles slipping the clutch in first gear..the bike was returned to Nortons at ..was it rebuilt or scrapped ? tony dighton

Hi Tony,Welcome to the Forum!Yours was the first of three Interpols delivered to Thames Valley in July 1985.C182 CUD, chassis number 3164, only has the briefest of mention in the Norton Service Records, with a repair quote at 3k miles which wasn't approved/completed. There are no details of the quote to know what the problem was.However, a DVLA search shows that it was last licensed up to May 1995 and is now recorded as un-licensed, suggesting it may have been disposed of but not recorded as scrapped.There is more Service history for the two other machines, C183 CUD and C184 CUD..C183 had engine overhauls at 7k and 31k, was last licensed up to February 1994, and is currently un-licensed..C184 had engine overhauls at 1k (!) and 22k, accident repair at 17k, last licensed up to February 1992, and is now un-licensed.It seems that all three were sold into private hands and may now be languishing in sheds somewhere.Recorded as 'un-licensed', they haven't been formally scrapped.
