Brake lines

Hi all Drax some time ago gave me some braided hoses for my IP2 that he had made. The rear appears to be a perfect fit but the fronts appear completely wrong and do not have the correct couplings on the front. He thinks they were made at NML does this ring a bell or am I missing some adapters or comon sense Image?Any help would be appreciated as I think they will be fitted if possible very soon. Thanks Paul

I recently bought some hoses from HEL in exeter for my commander they were very good fitted no problems HTH dave

With a commander you just order Yamaha xj 900 & details will be on a database. I guess Interplods were one of a kind or based on an italian bike. Derek.

Thanks for the info, it appears Richard thinks they did away with the metal couplings and required new Banjo bolts.

I replaced mine and did away with the length of bundy tube round the fork leg. One less joint to leak. The braided hose needs to be long enough to reach the caliper and the original fitting is replaced with a 10mm fine banjo bolt. I also got rid of the junction on the bottom yolk and went with two pipes direct from the master cylinder with a double banjo bolt incorporating a pressure switch. It's worth fitting a couple of "P" clips to the bottom yolk to stop the pipes sawing through the yolk Raceparts in Wallingford near Reading can supply all the bits in stainless for a fraction of the price of bought ones and you can swivel the fittings to lie staight when you finally assemble them on the bike. (it's a fiddly job fitting the ends but just like micro bore plumbing with olives etc)Dave

I replaced the brake hoses on my IP2 last year. Got the bits from Graham. 45 degree banjo's on the callipers gave enough of an angle to take the braided hose (450mm ish) through the original guide on the front mudguard. Swept bend up to the splitter under the bottom yoke to which I fitted two more 45 degree banjo's pointing backwards. Input to the splitter is a 20 degree (or thereabouts) banjo followed by a short flexible up to the master cylinder where it connected via a straight banjo. The result's very neat and I'm very pleased with it.The banjo bolts in the callipers and splitter are 10mm x 1mm pitch x 18mm long. Watch the length of the banjo bolts as I had two that were slightly longer and bottomed out before they clamped the banjo. Can't remember the master cylinder but the Yamaha master I have takes a different banjo to the Brembo.Johnny
