Gents, just putting the clutch etc back together after being apart for a few months and was wondering if there was anything in particular I have to be mindful of? For my sins the chain tensioner popped apart and I have just placed it back in the housing and fitted it, seems to offer light tension on the chain but I guess this is normal?
As always gents, grateful of any suggestions
All the best
Roy

Re: Clutch and general reassembly
Roy,
For the clutch I follow the instructions making sure the thrust bearing is not overloaded, I adjust until the pull rod can be turned with moderate resistance with a screwdriver and there is ample grease on the ball bearings, back plate and lift plate.
The primary chain tensioner can only go back together in one way, the manual has a good illustration, it is also possible to prime it before boxing up the primary chain case, following the manual for the correct torque of the bolts that hold the tensioner in place and using the specified thread lock is important.
Tony.

Re: Clutch and general reassembly
Cheers Tony, it looked fairly straight forward but it’s always nice to run things past people who have done it before.
Have a good Christmas
Kind regards
Roy
