I usually try to cover around 5K miles/year, last year I managed 4245 short of my target but had a good year attending the NOC International Rally in Spain, enjoying the mountains from Bilbao to Barcelona and a good ride up through France to Cherbourg.
Unfortunately owing to work commitments I am not going to be able to attend either the NOC National or Internal Rallies organised for 2025, so in between trips overseas I plan to do as much in the UK as possible, there is of course the Norton Rotary get together in September that I am looking forward to.
My last ride before the weather turned was a short 80 miles to McDuff, hopefully this wet weather will sort itself out so I can some more miles on the Commander.
Tony

Re: Good start to 2025
My first ride of 2025 was 24th February, with the good weather we have had so far I have managed to cover 354 miles, a planned ride today was cancelled owing to it being very wet and windy, better luck next week.

Re: Good start to 2025
February is usually still a bit cold for this old biker,March looked a lot warmer so I taxed the old Deaville 1st of March and have had a couple of nice ride outs with a local biker club.
Not planning on doing any International Rallies this year, but expect to be kept pretty busy with local stuff.
I intend to attend the Rotarie bash in the West country(if it goes ahead) hope to see quite a few familiar faces from past rallies, ride safe,J.B.

A very enjoyable run to the Stafford Classic show 25th to 27th April, the start to the ride was dry and sunny, on the way home just past Glasgow it started to rain and continued until we got to Stonehaven.
The ride was still enjoyable 910 miles over three days.

Hi Tony,
Nice to hear you can still do 300 miles a day,I have to admit I would find it a bit of a struggle myself, ride safe,J.B.

The first chip run of 2025, all the other bikes are a lot newer than mine, I have been involved with the run for a few years and the comments about the Commander being old and slow have stopped, I think the realisation that the bike is very capable has registered.
