Morning Trev.
Glad your pleased with the pannier set...I'm thinking you must be the only person converting from civilian P53 spec. back to police single seat P52 spec.
The police top lid pivot arms fasten to 2 small steel brackets which are welded to the frame at the rear of the oil filer cap. It didn't occur to me yesterday that these brackets would only be on the P52 frame and therefore will need to be added to your frame.
A suggestion ... I sold my commander to a great guy (Mike from Bristol)... if he still has the bike you could ask him to remove the seat and take a photo of these brackets to give you a guide for positioning and installing them.
Also, i'm sure Richard Negus or Graham will know the positioning dimensions/measurements of these brackets if you ask nicely.

Good Luck.. let me know how you get on !

Despite opinions above, the flat triangular plates are ( or were) bolted to the frame with M6 screws and Avdel inserts in the frame. All Commander, P52 and 53, have those holes and inserts.
I don't have a P52 parts list so can't tell you the part number of the plate to check whether AN have stock.

Five minutes searching the AN stock list:-

92.2360 Hinge bracket l/h £5.92 + VAT
92.2361 Hinge bracket r/h £5.92 + VAT

There wasn't published parts list for the P52, just my hand-written one used by purchasing and assembly. I doubt there are any copies remaining.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure I drew the hinge arm bracket back-to-front.
Parts Lists for the F1 and F1 Sport are like that throughout - no cash for a professional illustrator.

No, I meant the triangular bracket you haven't got. They should point towards the front of the bike and not as I've sketched it.

On the p52 police commander are there spacers between the panniers and the seat base without its pressing against the shocks and the lid doesent close right at the front its as if it should be wider at the front and yet not on the pics i have seen

This is the seat base i think there must be rubbers that insert into the 3 holes

don't worry about the pannier/radio box alignment - and a bead of rtv between then will stop rainwater getting in. Panniers and suspension units are somewhat 'adjacent', corrected by the lower brackets on the lifting handles.

The three holes in the seat base had moulded hard rubber mushrooms, fixed with contact adhesive. About 25 mm diameter and 5 mm thick, NLA from AN.

Hi richard
I have got new rubbers from anl but they seem a little thick i know about the holes at the bottom of the pannier that bolts onto the lifting handle but unfortunly they have been elongated and not the size of an m6 bolts
I have spaced the front of the panniers with 6 penny washers each side and without the rubbers its sitting better but then theres a gap of half inch at least if flush it presses hard against the shocks maybe the koni shocks arent original
Got the 2 brackets from anl to hold the u bends on the top lid
Losing the will to live (joke)
I just love the look of te panniers

Heres another on under the suspension piece there are four holes that bolt the unit into the m6 avdel holes but underneath the unit are what looks like 2 round adjusting circular units between the front ad back fixing bolts with threaded holes in middle that look like they adjust up or down
They are fully down now and certainly wouldnt help the fitting of the lid if raised
Guess youll all be glad when this bike is done
I certainly will!
