6 speed box for F1 sport
6 speed box for F1 sport
Hi everyone I bought a six speed box from a FZ 750, has anyone done this before on here, is this a straight fit or is any modifications needed to fit it?

Hi,
The main difference is that the FZ750 output shaft is shorter than the F1. A better gear set would have been that from a later FZR750R which has the same output shaft length as the F1.
I did several such FZ750 conversions using a one-off offset sprocket, dispensing with the standard oil seal spacer.
John Hemming 01547 530 759 may be able to make you another sprocket.
Fitting the gearset inside the case is straightforward.

Just a bike-less old fogey now. Boo-hoo!

As Richard said you can offset machine a 530 sprocket or you go to a 520 chain you can get the tab washer on or alternatively use a tab nut and do away with the locking washer. A small grove in the shaft will hold it in place no problem.
I’ve done few FZR600 and 0W01 6 speed cluster.
If you are really serious about having a bullet proof gearset get one of Nova racing gearsets. TT tested by team Wiz Norton

Thanks for your answers, is there anyone here who would be willing to do the conversion for me and an engine overhaul also if necessary please?

Sure, no problem. Well apart from being in Australia.
