Norton Interpol (commando) for sale
Hi All,having decided to sell my IP2 and P53 earlier this month i've ummed and arrr'd about selling my Hampshire Interpol.i'm still undecided but it is advertised in any case on ebay for £8999. Too high i hear you ask? well yes and no, they are going up in value, the are commanding this sort of money and i don't really want to sell it more to the point!!!! but i am looking for offers, if i get the right one i might just sell it.a planned emigration and resignation from the Police force is forcing the idea the sale.cheersRuss http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NORTON-INTERP ... 206wt_1186

Aah! The memories of sitting in Cadwell paddock in 1966, lump hammer and cold chisel in hand, trying to undo the engine sprocket nut when the rivets fixing the mainshaft to the flywheel all sheared .Proper bikes -they don't make them like that any more.

Re: Norton Interpol (commando) for sale
Thank God they dont. I had the timing side shaft shear off the flywheel on my DBD 34. That brings you to a sudden halt. Then sit on the roadside scratching your head for five minutes trying to figure out whats gone wrong before the long push home.Still I only paid £37.00 for it out of someones front garden in 1971 & I wouldn`t give anymore than that for one today. Did a trade in for £250.00 as H.P. deposit on a new 1972 roadster Commando. What a heap of rubbish that was. Quality control was not a concept Nortons subscribed too. Traded that after a few months as a straight swap for a 1959 AJS 7R [Lovely bike. One of the few bikes I regret parting with] & a really dodgy early Bonneville as my road bike.I had five Goldies in total in the early `70`s but went the Commando route after constantly being blown off by them, triples & fours. RRT2 gear boxes, what was the point except 0 to 60 in 1st. gear but it took 10 minutes to get there.Derek F.
