Interpol

Post by fogrider »

Spicers have just sold an Interpol, ex South Yorkshire, for £2000. Quite a reasonable buy for someone , must be quite rare now.

Registered A834 BWE, frame 2040. Seems to be most of the Police equipment with it too. Would have been a great buy for one of the coppers who rode it !

'A' reg (I think) makes it a 1982/3? a real early one,J.B.

Are you sure about that? Could it have been 3040?

Frame number is definately 3040, there is a clear photo of the frame ID plate, Andrew Spicer seems to make a point of doing that.

Looks a good bike, hope someone enjoys it and does'nt find a horror story hidden behind all those panels !

My intention is to turn it into an adventure bike. I have Tiger 800XC forks for the front. I will keep the angular tank and seat and fit an angular fairing in aluminum to match . Box style rear panniers and retain the single seat.
Not yet decided on the rear suspension set up yet. All suggestions welcome

For those of you that remember it, my Classic had the 3/4 fairing from a Triumph 900 Triple that I adorned it with,(and very nice it looked too)I sold the bike naked as it left the factory, but I still have the fairing(and all the fixtures and fittings+sub-frame with the twin H/light's)just the thing for your project?I have photo's if you want to have a look,J.B.

A bit late this I know, but I've also got one of the ex-South Yorkshire IP2s with an 'A' reg, engine and frame number 3060.
Also turned mine into a special...
