- smoky Air cooled can anyone throw some light as to why my Classic should decide to imitate a Ariel Arrow. She suddenly started smoking badly . Have checked the pump allingment that is fine but for a day and a half she smoked alarmingly. Now it has calmed dawn. Puzzled I am. I have just changed to Comp2 maybe that’s at fault? So I’ll go back to Rotela once I get back home.

mixing the oil is not correct!
If you change from Rotella to Comp2... the tank must be completely empty and clean, including the oil lines. Exactly the same the other way round.
You risk engine damage.

It could be that your frame drain has suddenly sucked a load of oil out of the bottom of the frame, after being blocked?

Well John I just hope your correct. It’s ok now although it did cause me some concern at the time.
