Draining commander fuel tank?!?

Morning all,I filled my commander to the brim to calculate the mpg but it runs out of tax in a few days and I've taxed my IP2 now.Anyone know how I can drain the tank easily without spilling fuel everywhere? The IP2 has a bolt on the LH side to make it easy but the commander not?Thanks

You could use the fuel tap set on the "prime" position, a length of hose and a gallon tin to drainmost of the fuel out?Not sure, by the way, what you mean by a bolt on the left hand side of the IP2 tank?

I welded a boss on the front of both sides of my Commander. Fitted a pair of on/off taps equipped with spigots. Joined the pair of taps with a short hose. They are both set in the ON position so that the left side of the tank will now drain out into the right side. Turn both off and pull off the hose to remove the tank, works a treat.

There is a capped threaded boss on the LH side of a IP2 tank. It's well worth fitting a tap to it (Graham Wilshaw sells them) this gives you access to that amount of fuel. Using that fuel every now and then prevents water collecting in that previously innaccessable part of the tank and rotting the bottom out, a common affliction on IP2's, a rotten bottom
