electrical question re temp guage

Post by rjg30091982 »

Hi guys,i have a question about electrics as i am hopeless with them!!i had my commander loosly stripped and resprayed last year and everything was disconnected, ever since and i've only done 10 miles on it in a year (and that was yesterday) the temp sensor reads off the clock when the ignition is on.as its DC voltage one assumes the reason its off the clock is because the wires are the wrong way around?any help much appreciatedRuss

Hi Russ,Look at the back of the gauge; there's a mark near to each blade.Black goes to the one with a ground symbol (up-side-down Xmas tree)White goes to '+'The other wire goes to 'G'.R.

Russ,Tough! You might also have a poor connection at the 9-pin connectors between front and main wiring harnesses.R.
