Commander prices

Post by Richard Negus »

I see that Roger Slater's very nice blue Commander has just sold at the Mecum auction for $22,000.
This is the one I sent to the US a few years ago stripped down and sent in two boxes marked "Vintage motorcycle spares", together with an illustrated manual on how to rebuild it.
Just a bike-less old fogey now. Boo-hoo!

Yes, Roger (ex Slater-Laverda of Bromyard) did a lot of work on it, particularly to the now-Brembo front brakes and handlebar area. In the end, he sold it on as he stopped doing the long distance touring.

Hi Richard

Never new Rodger was a rotary owner, I had one of his manly orange beasts, he said it was a ex demo one. It probably prepaid me for my F1. Jota 180 don’t like slow moving traffic especially at night. The alternator dose not charge the battery sufficantly at a low rpm. Below 4K rpm
