Indian rotary
This engine looks amazingly like the Norton NR731 of the late 80's ; it was designed/developed at Shenstone for a 300mph delta-winged target drone launched up a ramp by bungee cords.\rA very simple 208cc design, using Norton-patented ram air for rotor cooling and direct drive to a propeller ; started by a hand-held electric motor ; Tillotson carburettor and SEM magneto.\rProduced around 36BHP and (allegedly) had a three-flight / six hours warranty.\rOver 1,000 produced by Norton before being handed to UAV Engines and developed further as the AR741 with fan cooling, 24volt generator, etc..\rNorton sold several 731 engines to India, which may be the derivation of this one.\rBristol Channel trawlers used to bring them home with the fish.
