W2000 rectifier

Post by Interpol2471 »

Has anyone ever upgraded the old 5 pin rectifier as mine is cooked?
Have fitted a 4 pin as a test all is working fine but thinking of trying something better 😀

Cheers Paul

Hi Paul, the solid state rectifier is readily available as a replacement for the original on many British bike
(Is this what you've used?)

As the W2000 Tacho signal is wired into this circuit I'm not sure if it can be easily replaced by a newer single phase type regulator/rectifier if you want a working Tacho?

A wild Tacho reading is often due to poor/dirty connections at the rectifier

Hope this helps,Ian

The replacement recommended by the German Hercules Wankel IG is the four pin type ...

If you find better Paul, let us all know!
