Mazda

Post by Assen »

Just read; the new 2020 Mazda MX30 is being build with an Rotary-engine. Though, as an range extender. It is going to be run on one engine-speed to charge the batteries. A humble part for our beloved engine....

I seem to recall another vehicle manufacturer doing the same thing with one of their "Hybreds" some time back,J.B.

Prolly Audi, which has done a ton of research on the topic:

https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a ... e-feature/

Lotsa' articles through the years.

BTW, a 254 cc engine => a 508 two Rotor. With the old 1.7 Multiplier, 1.7 x 508 = 863.6

Hmmm...

1 Rotor @ 254 equivalent to 431.8
2 Rotor 863.8
3 Rotor 1295.4

Quite a nice little family for a Series of MOTORCYCLES, yes?
With Direct Pilot Injection and suitable Main Injector Geometry, a State of the Art Motorcycle Line would be highly desirable.

I think Audi with their A1-Etron had it in mind to fit a Wankel range-extender, but whether this ever came to pass …
