Post by RotaryDane »

Can someone please take a few measurements of their IP2 engine for me? Width from the centerplate to the left most side of the cooling fins; Width from the centerplate to the right most side of the cooling fins; Total width of the engines cooling fins; Thank you.

No need, figured it out. Things get though when your engine is out for a service. smiley

Hi RD,Had a quick measure up on the Classic,Centre Plate to out side of Horizontal cooling fins(N/Side) 7''or (17.5cm) (ditto O/Side)Total width of engine cooling fins,14+1/4"(36.3cm) These measurements are taken with a "builders tape" so they follow the curve of the engine,so are not down to the nearest thou, hope they help,as a point of interest, why would you need these meaurments?ride safe,J.B.

Hi JB, thanks for the measurements. They are meants as a width reference for a Petrol tank I am building from scratch, fiberglass and kevlar over polyurethane foam, that sort of thing. If the tank was bigger/wider than the engine the bike would look podgy IMO. smiley
