Carbon locking
I'm sure I have read posts about bits of carbon shelling off and locking the motor but I can't find them. I went to start the Commander today after a couple of months off, the motor turned over a few times and then stopped. I took the plugs out and tried to turn the motor over but no go.I rotated it backwards to free it off and it now spins over again. The question is is the bike ok to use? Should I strip it or just give it a go and see how it goes?Andy

Re: Carbon locking
Andy,Just a bit of loose carbon trapped at the side of the exhaust port rather than being blown out with the gas. You did the right thing turning it backwards.I'm sure it'll be perfectly ok now, but I suggest you check the oil pump setting, maybe a bit on the smokey side. A good blast should remove any other soft carbon.R.
Just a bike-less old fogey now. Boo-hoo!
