Handlebars for IP2

Post by Pike »

Has anyone fitted alternative bars on an unfaired IP2? If so do you know what they came off or where you bought them?A few years ago when my IP2 was in pieces, I borrowed the handlbars for a sidecar outfit I was building. Unfortunately, that bike got left in the Ukraine (long story) so I don't have the original bars for comparison. I seem to recall they were a bit sit-up-and-beg so I put some flatter bars on. These are perfectly comfortable except that find myself stting on the tank somewhat which in turn means my knees stick out. I offered up a set of T140 bars at the weekend but these are little better. It seems to me that either the original bars must pull back a long way from the clamp...or the standard riding position on the IP2 is to sit on the tank with your knees outEither that or I've got very short arms..

Cor...I didn't know there were other bars than the US and UK spec but sure enough...http://www.thehandlebarcompany.com/moto ... rs.htmlThe "mid 70s Bonnie" ones look noticeably higher than the "UK" spec ones I tried. Cheers for the tip
