Back to normal

Post by Assen »

Hi all,
After years whithout a rotaryengined motorbike, i'm back in the game...I just bought 044! For no were near the asking price, so i'm happy with the deal. Soon Chas Mortimer will deliver the bike to my doorstep.
First thing i do is a metamorphosis to the bike. From Tornado to Classic.
This should please Richard N. i think?
Hope to have lots of nice rides and pleasure of ownership of nr 044!!

Saw on Facebook that my old Commander in JPS-colors is still in very fine condition! Good news!

Vriendelijke groet!!

Hi Jannes,
What a relief!
It makes me VERY happy that a Norton enthusiast has become the owner of 044.
On behalf of all the people who engineered and manufactured 044, I look forward to seeing it as we intended.
Regards,
Richard

Funny whilst driving my rotaries over the last few years the question why did Richard sell his bike came almost every trip, was I in the wrong and should I be selling mine? This is really reasurring great news:_) Rob Ring

Hi Rob,
Just to reassure you, I didn't part with F750 because I didn't like it, more that as various illnesses happened, I became too feeble to handle its bulk.
I am pleased that the current owner is using it for the purpose I intended - long distance touring.
I replaced F750 with an Interpol-based Classic replica which ended up with a Commander engine.
That in turn has been replaced by an Aprilia 750 Shiver. The tank is too small and the seat too thin, but at least I can get on and off without too much of a pantomime. Touring Scotland is, unfortunately, out of the question.

Please send me a PM I have some paperwork for that bike, I bought my Hignett Commander, in the file was some stuff relating to the Tornado.
I called the shop yesterday to buy the bike but you got in first.
