Hello from a new member,

Post by mfremlin »

Hello all. Iv'e always been a Norton fan and now have just taken the plunge and bought a ex-RAC Commander. It was last on the road in 1997 and has an electrical problem and I know next to nothing about rotors. Steep learning curve ahead! The frame is 4002 and it was first registered in 1988.Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark,Welcome to the Forum! You've got the first Commander off the production line, completed 25/10/1988. 4002 and 4004 were completed the same day but yours is F207*** and the other, also an RAC bike, is F208***. There were ten bikes in that RAC order, all with very close registration numbers.4001, a P53 twin-seat Commander, wasn't completed until the 27th. There's a wealth of knowledge on this Forum so don't hesitate to ask.R.
Just a bike-less old fogey now. Boo-hoo!
