Electronic Ignition Unit E.I.U.

Thanks for recent help. I have now struck a new problem regarding the wiring diagram. The Norton diagram shows the E.I.U. has a red '12V to ignition unit relay'. This is on the left hand side of this unit but there is no red on my StartRight E.I.U. Other colours are correct. Then more confusion, the...

Bikinis

I write asking Mark Lepkowski questions about his article in Epitrochoid December 2019 regarding his adoption of a Yamaha bikini fairing to his IP2. Mark did the fairing fit onto the outrigger sub frame which is bolted to the IP2 frame and supported parts of the original headlamp and fairing parts?

Re: Where things live

Hi Mark, thanks again. the IP2 wiring diagram shows a White/red wire from the red connector in the binnacle going to the oil level switch. The oil level switch has a black lead which I guess is an earth but no connection for the White Red cable - that I can see. I will probably ignore this until lat...

Re: Where things live

Hello Mark, and thanks for your very prompt reply. I forgot to ask another question; my IP2 wiring diagram shows a coloured wire [I think red, memory not what it used to be] but all I can find is a black earth cable. What am I missing?

Regards Roger

Where things live

I am struggling with the Norton Demonstrator I bought recently. As I said the bike seems to be loosely assembled but some parts are not fitted to the chassis. So will someone please let know where the following parts are fitted to the chassis. Where do the coils reside? Where does the starter soleno...

What to do next

I have decided to extract cables from the IP2 loom to make up my Classic look-alike. I hope I won't regret that. I am sure some of you have converted an IP2 into a Classic look alike. Can any way help with the following; * Which headlamp to use - I have the original bowl/globe etc? * Which side lamp...

At Last

Well at last I have been registered and I am now in the club. It's been a long time but many thanks to Anthony, Graham and David for all their help. I bought the IP2 Demonstrator on ebay recently and will remove the fairings etc and try to make it more like a Classic. The bike came to me with a loom...
