Prolly Audi, which has done a ton of research on the topic: https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a15125104/how-audi-hybrids-could-keep-the-wankel-rotary-alive-feature/ Lotsa' articles through the years. BTW, a 254 cc engine => a 508 two Rotor. With the old 1.7 Multiplier, 1.7 x 508 = 863.6 Hmmm... ...

Re: NSU RO80,
If it's recommended by Suzuki& NSU to use multi-grade oil for their engines,I wonder why Nortons insisted on none-multi-grade oils for their Rotories? I also wonder if anyone had ever used a multi-grade in their Norton?(I think Dell Boy told me he did once in a dire emergency wink)SVF,J.B. I wo...

Re: NSU RO80,
...what oil do these cars use and how is it lubed? The RE-5 used the KKM-502 Motor, suitably updated and engineered, and the Ro-80 used two KKM-502s as a two rotor engine. The engine was named the 612. See the SAE Papers on both of these fine engines. In the SAE Paper on the RE-5, it plainly states...

A kwik "Thank You":
I may never get to own a Norton Rotary (I have SEEN one, coming within 6' of a Classic at a Ducati Shop years and years ago...), but I enjoy finding nice pictures and I now have a nice new Screen Saver.

1. For general Information in regards to our favorite Norton motorcycles (Note: I don't speak Brembo), what is the Word on silicone based brake fluid? 2. Point to Intake Port. Move finger around Housing, the long way 'til you get to the Exhaust Port. That's the direction the rotor spins.johnbirchjar wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 12:21 am Charlie,I have no idea which direction the engine turns when running red face.hence the question.J.B.

Re: rotation
OK, JB, I'll take a shot... Since the Apex Seals always run Unidirectional you should rotate the engine in that same direction that the Rotor spins when the engine is running. "Information is believed to be accurate but not warranted." "Do I get partial credit? A Certificate of Partic...

Still is.
RN, I know you are extremely proud of the work you have done on this Project through the decades since its inception.
You should be. Thank you.

I would suggest building a Shrine with the Bike on a high pedestal and Eternal Flames surrounding it. That would certainly increase the value of any real estate in the area.

OK, OK, maybe there aren't many interested in Variable Overlap... Anyway, when I first had the RE-5 back in 1982-ish, I replaced the Brake Lines with Braided Steels. I also looked at the brake assembly and discovered that the pistons were pitted and otherwise in dreadful shape. It seems that what we...
