Re: Classic part
Hi Joe, It's Dean Harris, he kindly contacted me through the Forum to say he will send me some paperwork that by mistake is given to him instead of going with the Classic. I don't think Dean has parts of the Classic, otherwise he would have mentioned it. He just said paperwork. This will soon arrive...

John, that is not a vented disc! A vented disc is cooled via the centre through fins.

Re: Starting up procedure
I've read somewhere (Andy Watts?) that pulling the oilpumpcable from a Norton up to maximum with an idling engine doesn't make the pump deliver more lube?
The rearwheel/gearbox must turn for the pump to work?
A lecture in oilpumpworkings is welcome....

Is it a lot of work per lens? Or can you make several in one go?
Any ideas pricewise?
I would love to buy a few in case off ever needing them. Red and yellow.

Norton Classic Logbook unused for sale
Do you have a real Classic and not the Norton Logbook? A fellow dutchman has one for sale. He sells as a privat person all kinds of manuals, brochures, part-books etc etc. And has now such a logbook for sale, as stated unused. He asks 25 pounds for it. You can contact me and i will get you in touch ...

Re: Parts general
Wasn't there a privat person who could make them at home? He also made them for Suzuki Kettles? I think i've read about it on this Forum?
He made silicon moulds i recall, in wich he made the lenses?
If anyone know who he is, perhaps we could ask him to make a batch.

Re: Parts general
Thanks again Richard!
Who actually made the rearlightunits? No more to be had?
Any ideas as to why there are no more of the units/lenses? Or, are they all being used up making old Interpol 2's into Classic-replicas?
Best, Jannes

Parts general
While reading some old Classic Bike magazines, i came across a story on Rotary bikes. While telling the story of the Classic, they said that the rearlight of a Classic is from a Aston Martin Lagonda??!! Could this possibly be true?? Hope not, as A/N has no rearlight in stock and in the case you ever...

Re: Registration-number
Richard, I follow your info, exept for the word "cannot", should that not be "can" ? The old number is E731-UWD, and the new number is NOA-343P This numberchange was in 1993 with the old, first owner Alan Watts. Bil Hignett, second and last owner, got the bike in 2009 according t...

Registration-number
Sorry, silly question perhaps; what could be a reason for a change of registration-number on a motorbike, as at the same time the bike didn't change the owner. Where i live, in the Netherlands, a motorbike gets a registration-number for live. If a bike has had 10 owners in 10 year,s all the owners w...

I've contacted Boyer, and they still make and sell the Pbox00106. Delivered by post, the total sum would be 106 pounds. So i reckon the reg. is about a 100 pounds. The A/N one is about 72 incl vat, but whitout the warninglight (thanks for that Richard!!) Due to past experiences with Boyer on Meriden...

Hi John, As i'm allways for orginality with bikes and cars, i think i am going for the regulator from A/N. Safe bet i think. Although, having said that, with the CDI-unit i'm going for the Minimag, not original, but again a safe bet according to people who are in the know. The more i speak with and ...

Oh dear, i need something that is hard to get i think. A/N doesnt sell it. As i'm changing my BSA Tornado in a Norton Classic again, the first thing i did is remove the plate with BSA-text on top of the handlebarclamp. I was expecting a Norton plate under the BSA plate..no such luck. So i need a new...

Re: Gearbox oil
In 1998 i had a conversation on gearboxes with Doug Hele at a meet from the Norton-Club. He advised me to add a little Molybdenum Disulfide to the gearbox-oils of all bikes with a separate clutch and starter solenoid. Of course i followed his advice. Molykote A is such a product that i use with grea...

Thanks Richard! I will follow your advice! Your advice on the airfilter is spot on. My Suzuki GS750 from 1977 (twin discs/wirewheels) had exactly the problem with the airfilter you've mentioned. The filter was totaly crumbled. Luckily no engineproblems occured.

Starting up procedure
My just bought Classic has run for the last time in 2017, so has to be brought back to live again. My plan is to remove the plugs and squirt a mixture of dieselfuel and silkolene Comp 2 oil in the plugholes. And check that all the 3 sides of both rotors are squirted upon...Turning of the engine by h...

Anyone knows what the metalicgrey-paint on a Classic is comparable with? Could i use a certain metalicgreycolor from a modern VW or Vauxhall that is a perfect match? Or is there a Norton colorcode?
