Re: Hello to the 588 community

The rev counter failing is the rev counter itself as the capacitors inside dry out and often cause them to fail.

Re: Classic's and their owners

Yes sorry Geoff has been really helpful and let me know about the toolkit, luckily I did win it to reunite it with the bike.
I am now looking for a Norton key wallet and the original certificate someone has it somewhere and it should be with the bike of course.

Thanks Geoff

Re: Wanted F1 or F1 Sport

Classic Superbikes in Fleet have the ex Norton Owners Club Chairman's bike that Mr. Negus has loved over with all the mods and rides amazingly. I have ridden 5 or 6 now and owned one this is the best I have ridden for sure 👍 It's all serviced ready to go I think there is a video on the website but b...

Re: Classic's and their owners

The toolkit that should have been with my Classic is on eBay now the owner at the time apparently didn't have it but all of a sudden he has and its on eBay. Doesn't seem right to me????

But that's life I guess hope I win it to get the bike partnered back with its actual tools.

Hi all
Does anyone have a spare good condition rear brake switch cover for an IP2 or Classic.

Appreciate a message if you have.

Re: Slide needle removal on IP2.

If you have removed the grub screw it should come out, give it a tap and pull the needle out from the bottom.
You have obviously drained the oil etc from the inside?

Re: Popham megameet

Sorry it was so stressful getting the numbers each year and making it different for people I stopped doing it.

If there is enough interest I can start again for next year but you really need 8 to 10 bikes guaranteed to be worth while to set up.

Trevor I can repair the originals no problem if you still have the parts, they tig weld really easily and the heat marks polish out.

Contact me by pm and bung it in the post

Keep standard especially on rear as it can rub if you get a standard profile. Avon Road riders are very good or Bridgestone BT45 my choice.

Also the bars on the Commander were special order for Norton and were not taken from another model bike, as Mr. Negus states 350LC is a close fit but changes the angle and bar reach slightly.

Re: Su float bowl needle

Trevor you are looking for the alignment as the spring is taken up just seating the needle to stop fuel flow. A good test is to connect a pipe and blow gently feeling where the needle seats nicely and stops fuel flow. On these float height isn't critical as long as pretty close most importantly is t...
