Brake union thread & sizes
Hi me again, the demonstrator is "fighting back" but progress is being made.
Can anyone help with the thread type and sizes for each brake master cylinder, can't find it in the manual?
My new coils will not fit where Norton planned, any suggestions?
Many thanks Roger

Re: Ignition and Voltage Regulator units.
Minimag did email saying coils and leads etc had to be changed. I will need to replace the coils anyway as one is way out on resistance and I would change the HT leads as a matter of course, the IP2 has not been taxed since 2011. I think the previous owner must have kept the engine lubricated as it ...

Re: Ignition and Voltage Regulator units.
Thanks John, and I did contact Minimags who responded almost immediately with details. Julian also suggested I contact Richard Negus [who repaired the gearbox on my first IP2 and Molyed my end plates] as Richard also does an ignition also Andover N. So Richard will you please let me have details of ...

Ignition and Voltage Regulator units.
Hi and can I bore you yet again for a word of advice. I have finally sorted out the "demonstrator's" wiring sorted out, after a couple of of enforced delays, but with 12V connected both the ignition unit and the regulator blow their fuses -0h and smokes a bit at first. I am now left with t...

Thanks for for your replies, so far it seems AGM is in front but Gordon what is 210ccs, is it something to do with energy density?

Which Battery?
I was brought up on lead acid batteries but might consider newer technology but do I go Lithium, AGM or GEL? What is the difference? Is there an advantage over lead/acid? On visiting various battery manufacturers' websites believe it or believe it not they all say their's is best! Unbiased advice is...

Re: Alternative Silencers
Hello David and thanks for your idea. I am concerned about the noise level, I would prefer a deep growl rather than a noisy race noise. How would you describe yours? I have been looking at the stainless silencers in www.carbuilder.com they supply repackable silencers. Pipe size might be a problem. R...

Hi all, I hope one of you can help with some small items from my IP2. Can anyone help? I am struggling with the wiring on the IP2 Demonstrator. The bike came with 3 ignition switches but none with cables attached. One which I think is original the other two is anyone's guess but one of them is more like a car switch with the starting position. I will be buying a new c...

Hi has anyone fitted different [lighter] silencer to the IP2?
I would like to do so provided the noise is not too loud.
Thanks Roger

I have just been given 2 spark plugs for the IP2. These are NGK 7471, are they really for the rotary? Nothing like the plugs in my engine nor my previous IP2 [why did I sell her} nor in the manual.

Electronic Ignition Unit E.I.U.
Thanks for recent help. I have now struck a new problem regarding the wiring diagram. The Norton diagram shows the E.I.U. has a red '12V to ignition unit relay'. This is on the left hand side of this unit but there is no red on my StartRight E.I.U. Other colours are correct. Then more confusion, the...

I write asking Mark Lepkowski questions about his article in Epitrochoid December 2019 regarding his adoption of a Yamaha bikini fairing to his IP2. Mark did the fairing fit onto the outrigger sub frame which is bolted to the IP2 frame and supported parts of the original headlamp and fairing parts?

Re: Where things live
Hi Mark, thanks again. the IP2 wiring diagram shows a White/red wire from the red connector in the binnacle going to the oil level switch. The oil level switch has a black lead which I guess is an earth but no connection for the White Red cable - that I can see. I will probably ignore this until lat...

Re: Where things live
Hello Mark, and thanks for your very prompt reply. I forgot to ask another question; my IP2 wiring diagram shows a coloured wire [I think red, memory not what it used to be] but all I can find is a black earth cable. What am I missing?
