first thing to do is ultrasonic clean the carb then set it up properly normal cleaning won't cure it only ultrasonic works.but get yourself a workshop manual before you attempt to strip the carb regards mike

i have a genuine suzuki re5 compression tester which prints the pressure values out.which is very ease to use and read also you can buy modern ones which work with a laptop but are expensive.all they need is an adaptor making to fit the plug hole size on a norton,easy enough for the interpol and com...

expansion hose is usually 6mm or 10mm readily available from any good motor factors usually 1 metre lengths regards mike

hi john i run ngk c8e in my commander if you need the resistor plug its ngk cr8e and my owners manual states filler cap operating pressure is 1.1 bar regards mike

a cable can get stiff through standing and when you open the throttle the cable can stick keeping oil pump wide open then slowly close when its parked back up

make sure you turn the fuel tap under the tank back on when you refit the tank,i forget got 500yds down the road and ran out of fuel but it's not to bad of a job to change battery takes about 30 mins max.i also fitted the optimal cables to my battery while it was apart so i can just plug in and keep...

you should get a new v5 back with no problems i did the same with my f1 that came from belgium it still had the uk v5 and was still on dvla website regards mike

if it has not got a nova number it will be a nightmare to register unless it was regged in the uk before it was exported dvla are clamping down on bikes that are brought in as parts bikes but then sold to restore also you only have 14 days from import to register it on the nova system any later and ...

i was also with carol nash for many years till last year when they couldn't insure my gpz1100 because it had an 1170 big bore fitted,i have now changed to bike sure which is part of adrian flux and have been very happy with them over the last year even though it meant starting my no claims from zero...

i live part of the time in the isle of man your bike should be safe,the biggest thing is you can expect is to find a crowd round it looking at it and taking pics,the other good thing is crime is very low in the isle of man,even the parking wardens are friendly towards bikes regards mike
