Re: Improving IP2 front forks

Should have said you would need to weigh the Front and rear of the bike so that you could compare with suitable Ducatti and Guzzi models

Re: Improving IP2 front forks

I put my inter 2 on the road this year and despite running the bike without the fairing the ride is very good. I would tend to agree with JB on the forks being out of true as without the spacers I would expect the ride height to be compromised. Progressive springs would not allow the forks to move a...

Hi all, can anyone point me in the direction of a speedo cable for my IP2, (it has the standard norton speedo not the smiths item.

Throttle cable

Hi all, finally got my inter 2 running, very happy. But the oil pump part of the throttle cable is sticking. Does anyone know where one can be sourced or is it a trip to venhills to get a special made? The other problem I have is that the tacho only works up to 1000 rpm then stays there. I must add ...

Capacitor wiring

Hi could any one tell me where the capacitor connects to the loom and the wire colours. The one on mine was connected to a permanent live Brown/Blue and other side to earth through the frame. Surely this cannot be right as the stored voltage needs to go to the coils eventually doesn't it? Please hel...

Re: How do I tell if mine is twin or single rotor idle

Thanks for that insight Richard. Does it not need the retard unit to run at low speeds? I had a look on the mini magneto site but to be honest didn't know what I was looking for. It also still runs the original reg/rec unit, are these ok or would you recommend changing it ? Do you know of a cable su...

Re: How do I tell if mine is twin or single rotor idle

Thanks for that Richard, I was leaning that way. I notice that AN have retarder boxes so take it it would be a plug and play. The ignition is still original Sparkrite, but I do not know if it is still functioning as have not got that far. The pickup was on the tufnal block but with 2 washers behind ...

Re: How do I tell if mine is twin or single rotor idle

Thinking it is a twin rotor idle as the blue wire apparently should run to the retard unit. Just need to work out where that splices in. Also can you tell me where the temp guage sender is fitted on the engine? can identify wiring in binacle but not sure where it runs to.
Thanks

How do I tell if mine is twin or single rotor idle

HI, I am a little confused how to tell if my interpol is sinle or twin rotor idle. There is no retard box or anything that would suggest where it might plug in, but also I cannot see any micro switch. On the right hand inltet tract between carb and throttle there are t pipes that have been blanked o...

Re: Non runner

Hi Haggler,How much"history"you have on the bike? A couple of options are,(A)squirt loads of oil in the chambers and turn the engine over by hand quite a number of times so the bearings, side plates and all internals are nice and oily ,or(B)strip the thing down and start from scratch Very ...

Non runner

Hi just purchased a non running Interpol 2. Seems to have plenty of compression and has been rebuilt a few years back (But has not been run since)
My question is should I just attempt to cure non start or would you recommend striping engine and starting from scratch?
Thanks for looking

Hi, just bought my first ever rotary powered machine. 1984 Interpol 2 Norton. Not running at the mo but looking forward to getting stuck into it in the new year
Tried to put pics up but won't accept them.
Hopefully see it out on the road next year
