Gearbox oil
Reading past info on gearbox oil it seems 140 weight is good , should this be Gl 4 or GL5
Would this quite down 3rd gear at the moment I am using 75/90 weight

Thank you for the offer of your locking tools very kind of you this is what makes the club what it is
l have tried Startright method of removing clutch and it works, clutch removed engine out and off to be molyed

You don't need a locking tool to remove clutch hub remove the circlip and bearing while the clutch is in place you can get to the nut just lock the fly wheel job done thank you Startrite for the infro

My commander has the original boyer and l have problems trying to get the tick over under 2000 rpm not sure if it is retarding when up to temp

Hi I am now ready to start up my commander after many years of standing i have carried out all the commissioning advice given by the clubspeaking to some commander owners at a NOC rally they advised me to check the water pump , any advice would be welcome

Hi Jerry.I renewed mine a couple of months ago. Replaced it with braided bought over the counter at a Yamaha dealership in Faversham. Can't remember how much it cost but it didn't break the bank. Hello Gerry, If I were altering the wiring on a Commander I'd move the ignition coils to a better location to keep them away from the water spray from the front wheel and also bypass the ballast resistor and use 12volt coils. All the police wiring will have been incorporated into the harness when it was made. This will involve removing all the wrapping/sleeving and rewrapping after you have removed what is surplus.
