Re: spark plug caps
I've had problems with the "R" plugs so now only use C8's .Seems better with Lucas coils (instead of the Yamaha originals) , copper core HT leads ,5 Ohm plug caps ,and C8 plugs .

spark plug caps
I am using a "minimag" ignition system on my interpol and have been advised to use 10 ohm resister plug caps. I ordered two but when they came they were 5 ohm . Phoned the bloke up and "nah , mate don't exist "!!!. I've seen them "on-line" but not the long straight ones...

Re: Carb adjustment
When I rebuilt my carbs on an Interpol 2 I contacted Burlem fuel the SU parts suppliers they had no knowledge of the needles stamped qx51 so sent me what they said was a perfect match . Ha Ha ,nothing like .They would only travel half way through the main jet .Refitted the old qx51's .They are worki...

I've had grief with the NGK resistor (not racing , as I've heard folk say ) Trouble re-starting when the engine is hot .Pop old C8E's back in and fires up straight away .

Interpol starting .
I've got an irritating problem with a aircooled rotary Interpol. It runs very well BUT after stopping and turning the engine off (stopping for petrol , cuppa tea , or any other reason) there seems to be a 50/50 chance of it firing up on two rotors !!! It seems to be the r/h rotor not starting usuall...

They are stainless steel and a lovely colour from straw brown tapering away to polished stainless at the reverse cone end .The colour is exactly the same both sides so I guess the rotors mixture/balance is good. .A sort of external/visual colour tune !!!!!

Spoke to a bloke about a rolling road session .He said it could be difficult to get accurate readings due to the posifeed two stroke system on the rotary engine !!

Interpol 'will not start when hot
I've sonic cleaned the SU's and i'm fairly sure they are pretty close to a std setting . The engine starts o.k from cold and warms up .It settles to a good even tick over but if I stop the engine I've got no chance of it re-starting .The carbs were cleaned for this reason .I have the digital system ...

Re: airhead thermocouple wiring
It seems the earlier post regarding the fact that the thermocouple gauge is wired directly to the sender is correct .All cleaver stuff !! (witchcraft ).Two dis similar metals ,the sender ,when heated produce a micro voltage which moves the gauge .I guess a solar panel works in a similar way ????
