Re: JPS Race Tanks

Yes they are all totally different Wayne. I wish I could find an overhead shot like that for my NRS.Then you have the Roton tank which is completely different again. Very Happy http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a307/spondonash/Bikes/DSC_0001-1.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a307/spondonash/Bi...

Re: New project.

Thanks Wayne, I guess I will have to wait until I have the engine and box in the frame and see how it looks. The 2 engines are very close dimension wise so it shouldn't be too much involved in getting it to fit.My NRS swinging arm was given to me about 12 years ago I guess.

Re: New project.

Thanks Wayne. Unfortunately only the one swinging arm, that was donated to me many moons ago by a bloke who had it as a souvenir. He gave it to me on the proviso I would one day rebuild the NRS.I have a couple of nose cones so yes I may be keen on a swap.

Re: New project.

I have standard and oversize boxes and I seem to remember that it was just the front mounts that would need modifying so possibly no frame mods ? I will be trying to work on both bikes at the same time, not ideal but I've done it before. ASHa commander engine can be retro fitted in to an f1, the fra...

Re: New project.

Well I'm hoping it will be a good project, I tend to jump in feet first with these things. It is viable to build a race rep, it is getting less so because of the availability of parts but it is possible. I'm not sure I would be keen to start now if I had no parts though. The F1 motor is the preferred ...

New project.

Wayne has spurred me into action and I have decided to get my rotary project underway. Basically I have a Spondon F1 frame and a twin shock RCW swinging arm and subframe to match. My idea is to build a Duckhams replica. I have an original Duckhams fairing in very good nick, also a tank and seat whic...

Re: Norton Motorcycles visit.

Well I must admit I am surprised that no-one seems to have any interest in the new rotary engine. It may not come to anything but if testing shows it to be as good as computer simulations show it to be there may be another rotary out there. wink

Norton Motorcycles visit.

I just thought I would post a shot of me and 2 wonderful bikes from my recent visit to Norton. I would like to thank Stuart Garner and everyone else I met at Norton, Stuart is incredibly enthusiastic about the whole business. The possible good news is that I got to see the new rotary engine, there a...

Re: brembo brakes and spondon frame wanted

Hi Malc, hows things with you ? You probably don't remember me.It would be possible for a good fabricator to reproduce one of the Harris frames but it wouldn't be easy. How hard would it be to produce a former to make the sides sections of the frame ?

Re: brembo brakes and spondon frame wanted

Wayne, I could be willing to have moulds made of my frame when back in the UK. It would be a project worth pursuing. I would have thought there would have been more swinging arms made than frames ? There could be one floating around.

Re: NRS588 91 CARBRATION

Thanks Wayne. The bike in that photo in your last post is actually my chassis, NRS001. That photo is from the SuperBike story March 1992, the story is on Ron Haslams 1991 race bike and the bike very clearly has chassis number 001. As can be seen in the photo it has the gear change and brake swapped ...

Re: NRS588 91 CARBRATION

To be honest Wayne I think I will have to find someone to make the exhaust for me, I can't see me paying 2500 for Micron to do it, probably more now. I have seen Geoffs work and it is very impressive.I do actually have a pair of radiators, they are actually made by Docking Engineering in Silverstone...

Re: NRS588 91 CARBRATION

Thanks Wayne. My NRS is progressing SLOWLY but as we are moving back to the UK later next year I would expect it to move forward quickly, that is the plan anyway Very Happy As you know I have most of the major parts and I'm really only missing the petrol tank and exhaust. Micron aren't able to make ...

Re: NRS588 91 CARBRATION

Hi Wayne, I know this is an old thread and you have probably got the info already but I have a pair of carbs from my NRS in front of me. They are Keihin, they have the letters FVKD cast into them and the following stamped into the main body ; 53RAEH27If there is any specific info you need just ask.Ash

Hello from Brisbane

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum but definitely not new to Norton Rotaries. There are a few names I recognise on here and it is good to see those people and others keeping the faith. I have had various rotaries over the years, Interpols, Commanders, an F1 that I built from parts and 2 race bikes. ...
