Re: Up rated headlamps

Well, don't drive on the A38 then! :-DAlternatively, if you haven't already, first try fitting relays to the headlamp circuit. My Commander was only reading 9V at the headlamp before I did this. I'd suggest that if you fit a HID lamp without trying installing relays, you've pretty much wasted your t...

Re: Yorkshire members

AH! THAT one! I have never ventured there, but have heard tell of such a place, where the ancient Woodsfolk purvay steaming beverages to weary travellers...Indeed a visit seems a fine idea. But maybe not this month.Or next....But..

Re: Fairing screen.

Joe,This may not help much but I recently watched a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP60xiGl-Xo) that shows a screen considerably different to the screens I have seen on other Commanders. The video is of the Tay Valley Norton Owners Club Applecross outing, try contacting David Templeton "...

Re: New rear shocks - any thoughts?

Hi DavidI don't think Hagons are re-furbishable. Especially with 100,000 miles of wear. It may certainly be worth asking them though.

Re: Flat Battery mystery

Hi RichardNow, funnily enough, I was thinking of asking you the same question!.... smiley I have assumed - with no actual knowledge - that the ignition unit allows a certain amount of current flow, even when not powered up. Given the unit is mimicing a contact breaker which has a normally-closed sta...

New rear shocks - any thoughts?

As the damping seems to have finally (and suddenly) given up on my Commander's Hagons (11 yrs, 100,000miles approx) I'm wondering if anyone has experience of other suspension units. I know Hagon are reliable & British and lovely people etc., but I've never been that impressed by the performance....

Re: Flat Battery mystery

Just back from boinging* around the Alps for a fortnight, so thought I'd add my thoughts & experience here.1) Some confusion about battery types seems to have crept in - Gel Batteries are not the same as AGM ones, so comments about one might not apply to the other. I've been using an AGM battery...

Re: Batteries for the Commander

I had no end of trouble with batteries failing until I junked the pair and fitted a single Odyssey dry battery from Knight Batteries. I think its a PC545, but you'd better check. It cost -gulp!- £90 but has been well worth it. It just fits the battery compartment if stood on end, (which it amuses me...

Wankeltreffen 2008?

Now, being my usual organised self, I'm still not sure if I'm going next weekend. So I logged on here to find out who is going, via where, & when, etc. and crucially, what the accommodation/camping situation is in Ingolstadt, as I can't decifer the flyer on the Wankel IG site, even after Google ...
