Re: Hello to the 588 community

I've never had to do it, but logic would suggest drain & clean oil tank; remove carbs to get access to plenum, solvent and rags ( count them in and count them out !) to clean as best you can; Flush out oil pump and supply lines. Please do wait until someone else chips in with grown up comments, ...

Re: Hello to the 588 community

I believe that the latest recommendations are to use Silkolene Classic 2T premix, although you may need to clean the old oil from your system before using it, please feel free to correct me if I have strayed from the straight and narrow !!

Re: Commander Krauser for sale

Hi, is this my old TRL Commander ? it did go to a guy in North Wales. Unfortunately I amnot in a position to buy it back. It will make a great bike for someone, it was heavily breathed on by RN at Rugeley, but not quite to Supreme Commander spec

I was touring Germany a good while ago with guys from work. Very heavy rain; one guy lost the front end and broke his collarbone. Turned out he was carrying a full chain and sprocket set, plus tools in his backbox - it weighed a ton !!

Re: Andover Norton open day

Well, I feel much heartened after a chat with Karl. They have a great plan which gives me confidence, and offers of support from some noted experts in the field. Might even have a run down on Saturday if the weather forecast holds. The Mighty 1100GS does 55 mpg, maybe more on a long run !

Re: Andover Norton open day

I was toying with the idea of a run down, but at 220 miles/ 4 hours each way (Drax) it's a fair run - not to mention the cost of fuel !!

They are fairly easy to take apart; a couple of special tools need, I could lend you.

The realy tricky bit is getting them back together so that they work, best left to the experts !!

Hi James, these folk look like they could help, and as the bike is over 25 years old, it looks like it might not need to meet all the later regulations ??

TRL Commander, H831 GRX ??

Does anyone now of the whereabouts of my old Commander. I sold it many years ago to a really nice Gent, Mike i think, from North Wales. He had a few more rotaries, including an F1 I think. The TRL has not been on the road for over 10 years. If it is stuck in a shed I would love it back
