Re: Holding clutch in and oil supply
Back in the day when I rode the Classic and tested the hydraulic clutch(time flies so I expect it's 15/20 years? ago)I thought it to expensive for the difference it made(can't even hazard a guess at the cost today)J.B.

Re: Holding clutch in and oil supply

Re: Holding clutch in and oil supply
Hi Mike,
I believe most rotories suffer with the "finding neutral" when stationary, what I got into the habit with my Classic was to just snick the box into neutral just before coming to a standstill,(I have to do the same with my Deauville)ride safe,J.B.

Re: IP2/Classic temperature gauge
According to how many miles you re-conditioned engine in you Classic has done,it will probably run a bit hot until it loosens up a bit(couple of hundred miles should do it)at least, thats the experience I have had,and I should think Graham in Leeds would have the Temp Gauge you are looking for,J.B.

Hi Dave,
I ride most Wednesdays for a "Lunch Ride out" with a local biker club from Maldon in Essex, and a popular bike with these guys is the BMW 1200 flat twin ,unfortunately, to tall and heavy for this old biker ,ride safe,J.B.

I remember way way back(20+years?) when my Classic was returned to me from Shenstone after it's 1st engine re=build(long painful story cry)and I couldn't get the engine to run evenly between cold start and warm ,all over the place until about 90c.I eventually found the problem was the Idle Rod had b...

I found the one that H/Davidsons recommend for their bikes( made the old g/box run a lot quieter) I used it for years in my Classic(and it's bright red,so any leaks are quickly spotted)J.B.
