Re: koni shocks repair

Hi Clive, Not quite sure by what you mean by "past it" with Koni Dampers,I used my Classic "Enthusiastically " on Bezumph Track Days over the 10/15 years that I attended those events Very Happy and found the old girl performed admirably with regards to the road holding cool(or an...

Commander &Classic

Hi guys,
anyone like to hazard a guess as to how much a Commander would weigh if it was naked?(without all the plastic bodywork)and compare this with a Classic,(and ditto the seat height)J.B.

Re: tank vacum pipe

Hi Trev, If memory serves(it was about 10 years ago smiley)I removed the spring that operated the diafram in the original tap(so it was permanently "on"), then put a bog standard on/off tap between the original tap and the carbs,I used a bog standard on/off tap so I could turn off the fuel...

Re: tank vacum pipe

Yep,that's what it does,(and b******d ethanol just loves the rubber diaframs in the fuel taps evil,)I did away with that system and converted to a gravity
fed system on my Classic.J.B.

Re: Ro80 on Ebay

The Mazda rotory must be a vast improvement on the NSU original, but back in the day, the vast majority(so I have been lead to believe) were exchanged for Ford's V4(which,if memory serves, was a bit of an old dog anyway,) hence Fords not keeping it in production very long wink, sorry,I digress,J.B.

NSU Rally

Anybody else thinking of attending the NSU Rally in July? Although no longer a Rotory owner/rider I am still very interested in anything rotory,so intend to go (if I can find some "digs")which at the moment seems very unlikely evil(all hotels and B&B's are booked solid)otherwise I will...

Re: First ride in 21 years

I'm really surprised it took you 21years to get back on a Rotory wink, I sold ALL my old British(and Japanese) bikes after the first month of Rotory riding,I was totally converted Very Happy, and remained so for the next 20 odd years,SVF,J.B.

Welcome to the club,

Re: H&H Auction

Commando's look heavier,(and as a point of interest, they are about 28lb more than my Deauville) but my problem would be the seat height, what is it on the Commander? (in comparison to the Deauville at 32ins)(or 814mm wink)J.B.

Re: H&H Auction

Hi Al, Lots of oil(30 or 40 grade mono)down the plug holes, turn the engine over by hand(bike in gear and turn the engine over using the back wheel so the oil gets liberally distributed round the internals)engine wise that's about all you can do. Advise the neighbours NOT to phone the fire brigade wh...

Re: my old Classic

Keith may well be right about auction houses. A case in point being last Friday with me looking to do a 'phone bid on a "T" reg(1997) Honda CB500 that had not been MOT'd since 2009,loking at the auction video and listening to the auctioneer's sound track comments,it looked a nice clean bik...

Digressing only slightly wink,Did I read somewhere that the M.O.D.had a Battle Tank on trial way back in the '90's that had a absolutely humongous Rotory diesel installed(I think the Challenger had about a 27ltr lump in it cool ) that went like stink, but was horrendously thirsty evil(no surprise the...
