Tyres and Lights

Although my long term intension is to upgrade the wheels and suspension on my Commander, I will need some tyres in the near future and was wondering what tyres suit the bike. It's got Michelins fitted at the moment but they don't impress in the wet. I was thinking of the new Avon roadrider tyres. Any...

Re: Commander and F1 for sale on Ebay

I agree, by the time that you've paid for an engine rebuild you're up to £6K before you start, that's assuming that it actually needs a rebuild?

Re: Chain oil

At Kempton some years ago I asked the Husband and Wife team that are "The Chain gang" what tool they used for riveting chains. It's a Japanese tool made by Whale. It's the simplest tool I have used and always does the job right.Expensive about £60 but you get what you pay for.Their one, was...

Tick over and temp gauge.

Hi people,Yet another series of questions for the experts. The temp gauge on my Commander is playing games, sometimes reading but more often not.I have cleaned the connections at either end but no success, when you turn the ignition on the needle flicks so I assume it's got power, any ideas? While I'm...

Re: Batteries for the Commander

Hi RichardHi GrahamGraham, I'm surprised that you had trouble with gel batteries not coming back when they go flat as that is supposed to be one of there strong points. How did you try to recover them? I suppose keeping them on a trickle charge would help(optimate etc) one of the wife's bikes has th...

Batteries for the Commander

As you may have guessed I have just got the bike, the batteries on it are on there way out so I am looking to replace them. My question is;Running two batteries isn't good practice as the resistance across the cells will vary, so you will have some cells charging while others are discharging and in ...
